Tropical Major Hurricane Harvey

The most rain that has ever occurred in a tropical system is 48 inches with Tropical Storm Amelia (1978). This occurred in TX as well. I'm not sure if Harvey can come close or even exceed the record, but it is possible.

Southeast ridge is nudging in from the right . Ole Harvey looks like he is about to get forced up through eastern Texas

There is an area of 54 inches further on the Euro.. and an area close to Victoria TX is at 51.

Has an area of the United States ever been under at least Tropical Storm conditions for 6-7 days consecutively? If UKMET and Euro are correct, it might be a first.

It will be the JHS of Texas
Lol! Guess the nobody wants to be in the bullseye 2 days out, works for hurricanes too!? This is getting crazy! You get the strength of a cat 3 , which does huge damage, and the stationary aspect! 1-2 punch to the gut

Category 3 officially now!

Data from an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicate
that the maximum sustained winds have increased to near 120 mph
(195 km/h) with higher gusts. Harvey is a category 3 hurricane on
the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. The latest minimum central
pressure reported by the aircraft is 943 mb (27.85 inches).

Looks like tornadoes are starting to be a threat now, too. Tornado watch up and already had a warning.

This things going to be a cat 4 with incredible rain and tornadoes. Very scary situation for Texas.
