Pretty funny that they issued a Flash Flood Watch today and in the watch area virtually no rain. The rain all fell east of the watch area. Makes sense.

Unfortunately accuweather thinks this pattern is going to last forever. But, it is accuweather, FWIW
Yeah. According to weather.com there's about a 60% chance of rain here almost every day for the next 2 weeks. Never seen anything like this in my life. I'm pretty confident there will be a torrential downpour at the exact same time as the Eclipse !

Part of that has to do with your knowledge of damn kelvin waves and all the information you post about the tropics .I've never been 100 percent into tropical weather until this year.

I've always loved tropical storms actually and I'm sure I can attribute some of that to enduring countless hours of my dad recounting his surviving the eye of Hurricane Hazel! Lol not to mention as a naive teenager waking up the morning that Hurricane Hugo was forecast to come through and I was disappointed it went west of us... Phil don't even comment haha

Summer patterns just seem to get stuck and it gets so old and boring. I'm over it.
Me too. After about mid July, I start growing sick of this same old pattern. September can't get here soon enough. Yes, September can be hot too, but at least then we're not dealing with dew points pushing 80 LOL

Usually towards the end of August dewpoints start to get lower here but i'm not sure about this year.

Meh, Hugo basically went right over me inland, just to the west of CLT at the time. Tons of damage, no power for 10 days, but tropical weather , hurricanes, and such, are boring, IMO . Id rather track a 10 day flurry threat, than an impending cat 5 US land falling hurricane, but to each their own.

To me, the excitement is with both tropical systems (no comment Phil lol :p) and winter weather of all kinds as well as cold. I don't like having severe weather and tornadoes because I don't want to clean up after them if they hit hard. Tropical systems are something that can affect a large area and seeing them hitting land isn't good unless they are weak depressions. It is in some ways more interesting because if you get a storm chance, it has a higher chance of developing than a winter storm, which 70% are fantasy, so it just gets frustrating. Nobody wants a hurricane, unless it is a hard hooking one OTS.

Some days I wonder if they smacked hard enough..... Lol jk. Fairly impressive how busy this place is even during the doldrums of Summer so to Dustin's point this place will no doubt be jumping when we get some actual winter clown maps to look at! :D

There'll be no clown maps this year. Prepare for glory! It'll be 80° again on Christmas. (JK)
